    According to a report by CNN, on Saturday, the Syrian Journalists Association said that Raed Al-Fares, a Syrian radio host who satirized President Bashar al-Assad, has been shot dead in the rebel-held Idlib province. The SJA said in a statement, "On November 23, 2018, the Syrians and the world woke up to the brutal killing of civilian activists and journalists 'Raed Al Fares' and 'Hamoud Junaid', in the town of Kafr-Nabl, after being hunted by extremist groups.

  • Airstrikes Resume On Syria's Rebel-Held Idlib

    On Saturday, volunteer rescue group, the White Helmets, along with the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said that airstrikes were reported in the Syrian province of Idlib, the last remaining rebel stronghold in the country. CNN reports that the attack occured just one day after Russia, Turkey, and Iran failed to reach an agreement on a ceasefire at a trilateral summit in the Iranian capital. The regime, supported by Russia and Iran, is preparing to retake the province of Idlib, a densely populated area holding as many as 70,000 rebel fighters and close to 3 million civilians.
