  • Qoros presents Model K-EV electric concept car at Auto Shanghai 2017

    Chinese carmaker Qoros presented its new electric Model K-EV concept at the International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition, also known as Auto Shanghai 2017, taking place in Shanghai, on Wednesday. The Model K-EV is envisioned to feature two electric motors, producing 870 hp that will allow the car to propel from 0-100 km/h in less than three seconds. Additonaly, a 107 kWh battery pack, which is attached on the vehicle's floor, supplies power to its motors. The battery is designed to enable the concept car to reach up to 300 miles on a single charge. China's automotive industry has been the largest in the world since 2008. Chinese automakers produce more cars than the US and Japanese markets combined. In 2014, China produced over a quarter of the world's cars. Auto Shanghai is one of the world's leading trade fairs for automobiles. The show, which has taken place every two years since 1985, features thousands of exhibitions from all over China and the world.

  • Skoda Unveils Vision E Electric Concept at Auto Shanghai Expo

    Czech carmaker Skoda is betting big on China. They unveiled an electric concept car called the Vision E, through which they hope to take their place in the world's largest auto market. Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier's presence at the unveiling underscores the importance of the market to the company. Skoda's new Vision E electric concept car was unveiled at the 2017 International Automobile & Manufacturing Technology Exhibition, also known as Auto Shanghai Expo on Tuesday. The four-seat crossover is based on VW Group’s MEB platform. Vision E has two electric motors delivering a combined 225kW of power. Designed in the Czech Republic, the Vision E is fuelled by liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery cells, and boasts a potential driving range of 310 miles. China's automotive industry has been the largest in the world since 2008. Chinese automakers produce more cars than the US and Japanese markets combined. In 2014, China produced over a quarter of the world's cars.
