The VISION EQXX from Mercedes-Benz has now taken to the roads of Europe and has demonstrated its outstanding range and efficiency. Travelling from Sindelfingen across the Swiss Alps and Northern Italy, to its destination of Cassis on the Côte d'Azur, it effortlessly covered more than 1,000 km in everyday traffic, on a single battery charge. The journey started in cold and rainy conditions, and was undertaken at regular road speeds, including prolonged fast-lane cruising at up to 140 km/h on the German autobahn and near the speed limit elsewhere. The battery's state of charge on arrival was around 15 percent, amounting to a remaining range of around 140 kilometres, and the average consumption was a record-breaking low of 8.7 kWh per 100 kilometres.
Range and efficiency are set to define the electric era. Outstanding range will make electric cars suitable for every journey and will speed adoption. Exceptional efficiency will create a virtuous circle of battery size and weight reduction, allowing us to go further with less. Mercedes-Benz is determined to lead the way. We are already leading the charts of real-world range with the EQS with 245 kW, as evidenced by the recent Edmunds test where an EQS 450+ travelled 422 miles on one charge, 77 miles further than any other car previously tested.

Because now and for the future, luxury above all stands for personal freedom as well.With its innovative, stretched "one bow" proportion, the Vision EQS takes the Progressive Luxury design philosophy of the EQ models by Mercedes-Benz into a new dimension. The flowing yet powerful sculptured effect of the exterior design gives the show car its majestic appearance - luxurious generosity and aerodynamic elegance in ideal harmony.The prominent, continuous "lightbelt" structures the exterior in a new way. The resulting colour division at shoulder level creates the impression of a "black panel" glass landscape floating on the silver vehicle body - a seamlessly connected vehicle surface from the striking EQ front grille to the rear.
Mercedes-Benz Vans wants to further expand its position as a leading manufacturer of premium vans. In doing so, the company is consolidating a decisive competitive advantage: the customised diversity of its portfolio for commercial and private use – offering a range of fully electric and conventionally powered vehicles in the small, midsize, and large van segments. The introduction of the modular and scalable Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA) from 2026 marks the gradual transition to a focused premium strategy for commercial vans. The new Vito, eVito, Sprinter and eSprinter light commercial vehicles are a key step on this journey. They offer more comfort, safety, and functionality, especially thanks to a plus in intelligent, digital networking. This sets the course for further growth at the upper end of their respective segments.
