  • James Bond May Ditch His V12 Aston Martin

According to Digital Trends, James Bond may ditch his V12 Aston Martin for an electric powered ride in the next film. The Daniel Craig films reasserted the connection between 007 and Aston, even bringing back the classic DB5 for Skyfall. But, rumors have it that Bond will be driving a very different Aston in the next film. The car Bond will reportedly drive is the Rapide E, Aston Martin’s first production electric car. Its motors produce a combined 602 horsepower and 702 pound-feet of torque, according to Aston, all going to the rear wheels. Aston previously quoted 0 to 60 mph in under 4.0 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph. Just 155 cars will be built, priced at around $330,000 each.

  • Stephen Colbert Dashes Daniel Craig's Plans in Hilarious 'Spectre' Scene

James Bond (a.k.a. Daniel Craig) stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Wednesday night to promote Spectre, the iconic spy's latest adventure, and he brought along a rather unexpected look at the film. The bit began with Colbert taking Craig to task for Bond's history of needlessly destroying the beautiful cars that he's given to drive, a criticism that Craig promised would be addressed in the new 007 movie. Insisting that the issue would be handled with "A certain amount of gritty realism," the actor introduced a "clip" from Spectre as proof. The scene begins in Rome, as Bond races into a budget rental car company called RentalCo in desperate need of a getaway vehicle now that he’s inevitably destroyed his Aston Martin. Unfortunately for 007, RentalCo agent Randy (Colbert) doesn't really care that Bond is trying to elude a bunch of assassins. From there, MI6's top spy learns the hard way that getting a new set of wheels isn't quite as easy in the civilian world.
