In footage courtesy of Twitter user @WhoAteMyPizza, Sniper rounds could be heard ripping through Dallas on Thursday night, after 11 police officers were shot, 5 fatally, during a protest against the police killing of African-Americans Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. Police reports indicate that two snipers fired multiple shots at police officers from an elevated position in the city centre.
Former US President George W. Bush raised eyebrows after footage captured him swaying and dancing during a memorial service in Dallas on Tuesday. The sombre event was held to honour the five police officers killed in the Dallas shootings last week, during a protest against the police killing of African-Americans Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. During a rendition of 'The Battle Hymn of the Republic,' the former president, holding Michelle Obama's hand on one side - and his wife Laura's on the other, swayed to the music.

US President Barack Obama called for unity following the fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge during a press conference in Washington DC on Sunday. Addressing the recent police deaths in Dallas , the president said that "five days ago I travelled to Dallas for the memorial service of the officers who were slain there. I said that, that killer would not be the last person who tries to make us turn on each other nor will today's killer. It remains up to us to make sure that they fail."
