The resumes of former White House staff usually go straight to the top of the pile when it comes to getting top jobs. After all, they've had the unparalleled experience of years of dealing with some of the toughest crises in government. But according to Business Insider, Trump administration staffers aren't finding such a post-POTUS cushy landing. As businesses begin to shun Trump enterprises, one PR recruiter said they had received inquiries from at least 15 people from the White House looking for jobs. The headhunter took on six people as clients, but none were able to even secure an interview with corporations they had applied to. It's just very hard. Former national security adviser John Bolton didn't mince words after US President Donald Trump vetoed the annual bill to fund the US military. Trump's chief complaint with the bill is that it called for the renaming of military bases named after Confederate military figures. The must-pass, $741 billion bill was passed with widespread bipartisan support. According to Business Insider, Bolton told Trump to 'get out of the way,' and said Trump was 'not a conservative.' Trump's former national security adviser also described Trump's 'destructive' veto as a 'purely gratuitous action' and 'selfish.' (CNN) President-elect Joe Biden's approach to Russia is now an even tougher challenge with news that Moscow may be responsible for a massive cyber attack on US federal agencies -- one Biden said he will impose "costs" for. The President-elect and his team are preparing a "cost imposition strategy" to respond to Russia -- not just for the hack, if Moscow is responsible, but for Russia's other disruptive actions also -- measures that will include but won't be limited to sanctions, according to a source close to Biden.
President-elect Joe Biden secured the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency more than a week ago. However, many of the president's allies and appointees have remained silent while Trump continues to falsely claim that he won the race. General Services Administration chief Emily Murphy is in charge of acknowledging the election winner and beginning the formal transfer of power. Murphy has not issued the 'letter of ascertainment' that triggers the release of funds and facilities allowing the transfer to begin. Now, Business Insider reports Murphy is privately exploring her job option, based on a message of Murphy discussing employment opportunities in 2021. The apparent job search contradicts President Donald Trump's messaging that he won the election.

But in capitals around the world, foreign leaders are already clamoring for his attention, hoping to reset relationships and restore norms that shifted under President Donald Trump. Nowhere will there be greater opportunity for a shift than in the US-China relationship, which has deteriorated to historic lows during Trump's term in office. Over the past four years, both sides have slapped the other with trade tariffs, restricted access for tech companies, journalists and diplomats, shuttered consulates, and squared off militarily in the South China Sea.
As of Thursday morning, most major US networks haven't called a winner of the presidential race in Arizona. But that's most networks--not all. Fox News and the Associated Press have each made a call, and that's become a problem. CNN reports the issue has become a bone of contention between the news organizations and President Donald Trump's campaign. Arizona's 11 Electoral College votes are pivotal to Trump's path to re-election. But Fox's decision desk called the race for Joe Biden. Trump allies spent Wednesday demanding that Fox retract its projection. Jared Kushner even called Fox owner Rupert Murdoch to complain--to no avail.
