Colombian Police seized over 12 tons of cocaine valued at over $360 million in major bust on Wednesday. According to Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos this raid became the largest ever seizure in Colombia's history. Reports state that the cocaine was located in the north-western Antioquia province, in four banana plantations near the country's border with Panama. Police reported that the drugs belonged to the trafficking cartel 'the Gulf Clan' and that they arrested four people in connection with cocaine trafficking during their operation.
The Spanish police discovered a haul of nearly 40 pounds of cocaine, potentially worth half a million dollars, inside of fake bananas hidden in a shipment of real bananas during an operation in the coastal cities of Malaga and Valencia on Sunday. Footage of the haul was shot in Valencia. No, we're not monkeying around. Some 57 artificial bananas, carrying about 15 pounds cocaine, were found among the real bananas by police. Another 22 pounds of cocaine were reportedly hidden inside the cardboard boxes that carried the bananas. Following the operation, two people were detained on charges of drug trafficking. According to the police, a third person is presently under investigation.
