Netflix Reveals Schedule for Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage


Netflix released a loosely drawn picture of when fans should expect new Marvel series to debut and favorite series to return. Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos offered a confirmed that Luke Cage will premiere on Sept. 3. It will be Netflix’s second Marvel series this year, following Daredevil Season 2. Marvel’s Iron Fist and Marvel’s Defenders will both premiere in 2017, and Jessica Jones Season 2 will premiere back-to-back with The Defenders.

    Digital Trends reports Netflix has canceled Marvel's Daredevil just a month after the premiere of the show's third season. The series had a small but loyal fanbase. They are now heartbroken over the cancellation. That leaves Jessica Jones and The Punisher as the only remaining series in the company's collaboration with Marvel TV and Disney. Netflix made the series’ end official in a statement to Deadline. The service left the door open to future projects involving the character outside of the streaming service.

  • Fans Have Hope Daredevil Will Live On Elsewhere Following Netflix Cancellation

    Daredevil is latest Marvel Netflix cancellation to be announced (though it certainly might not be the last). Since Daredevil's cancellation was announced, Marvel fans have been feeling the pain - as have the cast and creative team of the show. Showrunner Steven DeKnight said he was “Deeply saddened by the news,” of Daredevil's cancellation, and was “Honored to have been a part of it.” Series stars Deborah Ann Woll and Amy Rutberg issued the following statements (respectively): DAW: “so sad that we won’t be continuing this story.”

    There has been some confusion about where “Daredevil’s” season 4 will be showing. Showrunner of Daredevil season 3 Erik Oleson has taken to social media to clear up some confusion. According to Comicbook.com, Oleson said they are looking to continue the series on Netflix. Although it’s not confirmed that the show will be on Netflix, Oleson said “Fingers crossed!” Oleson said he had “so much fun” working on season 3 of Daredevil and would like to work on season 4.

    'Daredevil' star Charlie Cox says he has no idea if there will be a second season of Netflix's 'The Defenders', which teamed his character up with Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. According to Comicbook.com, Cox added recently, "I know that I had a great time doing the first season and I love those guys and I love the work that we did and I love all of their shows. He then said, "I know nothing, and very wisely, they tell me nothing. Even if I do, it's kind of difficult, because just to even speculate about it in a public forum."
