American basketball legend and two-time Olympic gold medal winner Gary Payton mingled with fans at the NBA House in Rio de Janeiro on Wedneday as the US national team prepared to face off with Spain in the semi-final. Payton watched young basketball players compete, gave a few tips to his loyal fans, and posed for photos with the winning teams.

The US track and field athletes Christian Taylor, Will Claye and pole vaulter Sam Kendricks gave a joint press conference at the Olympic Park's Media Press centre, Tuesday, following the men's triple jump and pole vault final. Talyor, who came back to professional sports recently after a recovering from a serious injury, gained his second gold medal in the triple jump finals, making him the first US repeat champion in the sport since 1976. His team mate Will Clay took the silver medal.
Young Canadian swimmer Penny Oleksiak held a press conference at the Olympic Park at Barra de Tijuca in Rio de Janeiro, Sunday, picking up her fourth Olympic medal after winning gold in the 100m freestyle. The 16-year-old swimmer won the gold medal in the 100m freestyle, a silver in the 100m butterfly competitions and two bronze medals for the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle relay. Oleksiak said that "as long as I have love for this sport, I am gonna keep progressing."
US swimmer and the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps, announced that he is retiring after claiming his 23rd Olympic gold medal, during a press conference at the Olympic Park in Rio de Janeiro, Sunday. Phelps won a total of 28 Olympic medals in his lifetime.
