Benicio del Toro to Star in 'Predator' Reboot?

According to sources 'Sicario' actor Benicio del Toro is in talks to star in Shane Black‘s upcoming movie, “The Predator”, a reboot of the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film. Plot details for the reboot are currently being kept under wraps but insiders say the new film will be anchored by the character that del Toro is playing. Del Toro, an Oscar winner for 2000’s “Traffic,” is scheduled to appear in a sequel to “Sicario” titled “Soldado” and will also appear in “Star Wars: Episode VIII.” Black who had a small role in the original 'Predator' is directing the reboot from a screenplay by Fred Dekker.

    It seems like Predator will find its new prey in the form of Benicio Del Toro. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor is in negotiations to star in the sci-fi reboot. Directed by Shane Black, the upcoming Predator film will be overseen by 20th Century Fox with producers John Davis, Joel Silver, and Lawrence Gordon. At the moment, the film is set to begin production next February and be released a year later in 2018. Of course, both the studio and crew are keeping mum about the Predator’s plot details. However, Variety is now saying that del Toro has been replaced by 'Narcos' actor Boyd Holbrook. Predator, which was originally released in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, centers around commandos being stalked in a jungle by a fearsome alien.
