Swiss startup company Climeworks launched a factory which extracts carbon dioxide from the air, stores it underground, and sells it to paying customers in a bid to tackle climate change and global carbon emissions. The Climeworks plant is the first commercial project that will remove CO2 by drawing ambient carbon dioxide from the air using direct air capture technology.
