Chinese-Russian Next-Generation Commercial Aircraft Christened 'CR 929'

A next generation long-haul, wide-body commercial aircraft developed by Chinese and Russian engineers was officially named during a ceremony at the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, or COMAC, headquarters in Shanghai on Friday. The new aircraft, which is expected to compete for orders with major global players Boeing and Airbus, was dubbed the 'CR 929' family of jets, with 'CR' signifying the initials of the manufacturing countries.

  • Images show two Russian jets 'intercepting' a US Air Force drone over the Black Sea

    Footage released by the US Air Force, shot on 14 March 2023, shows two Russian Su-27 aircraft flying close to a US MQ-9 unmanned aircraft over the Black Sea. The US Air Force has said the Russian jets conducted "an unsafe and unprofessional intercept", dumping fuel on the aircraft and striking its propeller, forcing Washington to bring down the MQ-9 Reaper drone in international waters.
