The House of Representatives impeached President Donald Trump on Wednesday. Having been previously impeached for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress related to the Ukraine scandal, he's the first president to be impeached twice. Trump was impeached for 'incitement of insurrection' over his role in triggering the violent siege of the US Capitol on January 6. Five people died in the riot. According to Business Insider, ten Republican lawmakers broke ranks to vote with their Democratic colleagues to impeach the president. The final vote was 232 in favor of impeachment and 197 against.

Decision Desk HQ and Insider have announced that President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have won Georgia. It's the first Democratic presidential victory in the state since Bill Clinton's narrow win in 1992, and earns Biden the state's 16 electoral votes. It brings Biden's final Electoral College count to 306, well above the 270 vote threshold for victory. Trump will earn 232 Electoral College votes. According to Business Insider, nearly all statewide precincts have reported. Biden led Trump by a 0.3% margin, earning 49.5% of the votes compared to Trump's 49.2%. Due to the closeness of the race, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Wednesday ordered a statewide audit of the presidential election results. Such an audit requires that each ballot be counted by hand. Final vote tallies from each precinct must be submitted by November 18th.
The widow of the late Republican Sen. John McCain believes her husband 'would be very pleased' that Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump on Election Day. Although a lifelong Republican like her husband, Cindy McCain endorsed President-elect Biden. Business Insider reports McCain says she hopes Trump concedes gracefully, as did her late husband conceded to then-president-elect Barack Obama in 2008. The late senator was widely praised for his moving concession speech delivered on Nov. 5, 2008, just a day after Obama's projected election win. I really truly hope ... that this president stays on the right side of history. But also with all that said, does what's right for the country. Cindy McCain Widow of the late Arizona Sen. John McCain Trump has refused to concede and has floated baseless theories to justify nullifying the results. He also claimed he had already won the election, despite trailing Biden and not accounting for the unprocessed ballots throughout the country.
US President Donald Trump walked out in the middle of his scheduled interview with CBS News' '60 Minutes' on Tuesday. CNN reports that not only did Trump fail to complete his interview, he also didn't return for an appearance he was supposed to tape with Vice President Mike Pence. Trump sat down at the White House with host Lesley Stahl for about 45 minutes, then abruptly ended the interview. Sources say he told the network he believed they had enough material to use. Stahl previously said that in 2016, then-candidate Trump admitted his attacks on the press were meant to discredit negative stories that emerged about him. He said, 'You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.' He said that. Lesley Stahl
