South Korea's military says North Korea fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile off its coast, amid concern that the isolated state might conduct a nuclear test ahead of a rare ruling party meeting in May. Mana Rabiee reports.
North Korea test-fired multiple ground-to-air missiles into waters off its east coast on Thursday.North Korea test-fired seven ground-to-air missiles from Seondok, South Hamkyong Province into the East Sea around 6 p.m., according to Yonhap News.The missiles launched include an SA-5, which was test-fired for the first time in North Korea. It flew some 200 km before falling into the sea, Yonhap News reported.Other missiles fired allegedly include SA-2 and SA-3 missiles which have a range of up to 45 km while the SA-5 could fly up to 250 km, Yonhap News and New York Times reported.North Korea has conducted various short-range missile tests in recent weeks. Two Scud-type ballistic missiles were launched on the first day of U.S.-South Korea joint military drills, according to the New York Times.
