World’s Rarest Leopard Caught on Tape in the Wild

Description

A camera trap has recorded the sounds of a critically endangered Amur leopard in the wild. The leopard is a seven-year-old male named Typhoon. Reports say he made the territorial call in Russia’s Land of the Leopard protected area. There are said to be fewer than a hundred Amur leopards left on Earth.

Vets were hand-feeding the tiny Amur leopard baby at the Yalta Zoo, as the cub is still too young to open its eyes or even walk on four legs. Despite the fact that Amur leopard numbers have roughly doubled since 2007, they are still the species of large felines most vulnerable to extinction.

  • Wild, Wild World: How Criminals Can Exploit The Coming Vaccine Tsunami

Interpol has warned that criminal organizations are planning to infiltrate or disrupt supply chains related to COVID-19 vaccines. But that's not the only way bad guys might try to cash in on the coming global vaccine bonanza. According to Business Insider, groups may try to sell counterfeit or expired vaccines, on a small-scale or a large-scale basis. Criminals may also try to 'sell' vaccines online, in an attempt to steal personal data and credit card numbers. They may also try to extort companies, or hold supply chains hostage in return for ransom money. Finally, they could do a better job than governments at vaccinating neighborhoods, thereby installing themselves as a semi-legitimate, parallel government.
