Russian arms maker Kalashnikov unveiled a prototype of an electric car CV-1. The retro look of the pale blue prototype, dubbed the CV-1, was inspired by a rare 1970s model, the "Izh-Kombi".
German car manufacturer BMW unveiled its brand new i8 Roadster model at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday. The i8 Roadster is a two-seater hybrid sports car featuring a soft-electric top and an aluminium body with a carbon-fiber passenger cell. The car comes with a battery that has an electric-only range of up to 18 miles before the 3 cylinder, 369 horsepower gas engines joins in. The i8 hybrid roadster is fast - its top speed is 155 mph and the sleek vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about 4.4 seconds.
It's an all-electric high-performance supercar aiming to deliver the ultimate in driving pleasure while also offering high environmental performance and comfort for daily use.At its core is a high-output all-electric powertrain with an optimal-weight-balancing, all-solid-state battery that can produce output up to 1,000 kW with precise and rapid acceleration. Powerful downforce, an advanced form of Nissan's e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology, and light-weight body featuring high-strength carbon promise enhanced cornering and exceptional handling on circuits and winding roads. The exterior design, with its wide and planted proportions, is a blend of sleek curves merging seamlessly with bold geometry that reflects the performance underneath. Incorporated throughout the design are elements, such as on the front and rear lamps, that pay homage to Nissan's high-performance cars. The exterior achieves high aerodynamic performance, which was developed together with the NISMO racing team, generating powerful downforce. The two-tiered aerodynamic structure under the front hood provides both strong downforce and high cooling performance. Meanwhile, the dual-level* rear diffuser optimally controls airflow. The front canards, front fender flip and both ends of the rear wing feature unique active aero functionality, while a newly developed plasma actuator suppresses air detachment to maximize grip and minimize inner-wheel lift during cornering. The lightweight forged carbon wheels aid aerodynamics and brake cooling.
With its latest MEB model, Volkswagen has responded to customer feedback and improved the user experience. A host of innovations come as standard in the ID.7:the new display conceptthe augmented reality head-up displaya 38-centimeter (15-inch) screendigitally controlled air ventsilluminated touch slidersThe new air conditioning system has intelligent vents and offers a number of functions. For instance, the ID.7 can detect when the driver is approaching with their key and can start to cool the interior on hot summer days or heat the interior on cold days before the driver gets into the vehicle. Newly designed “Smart Air Vents” control the flow of air and move dynamically to distribute the air over large areas as quickly as possible. If there are passengers in the car, the air can be directed straight to the body or ventilate the interior indirectly. These functions are visible at all times on the new large display and can be activated and saved individually for each user. Special requests can be activated using voice commands. If the user says “Hello Volkswagen, my hands are cold!”, the ID.7 responds by starting the steering wheel heating function. At the same time, warm air is directed towards the driver’s hands.
