NYC Subway Bombing Suspect Pleads Not Guilty

Description

On Thursday, a Bangladeshi man accused of attempting a suicide bomb attack in a busy New York City subway station last month pleaded not guilty to federal terrorism charges. According to prosecutors, the suspect, 27-year-old Akayed Ullah, was arrested on December 11 after trying to detonate a pipe bomb secured to his body in a pedestrian tunnel in Manhattan’s Times Square, which is connected to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. According to a criminal complaint filed on December 13, Ullah told police officers after the blast that he “did it for ISIS." If convicted, he faces life in prison.
