Reporter Puts Out Tape of Trump Trying to Get on Forbes 400 List

Description

According to reporter Jonathan Greenberg, Donald Trump inflated his wealth to make the Forbes 400 list in 1984. In an OP-ED published through the Washington Post, Greenberg stated Trump called him under the guise of being an aide with the Trump Organization to get on the list. Identifying himself as John Barron, Trump allegedly altered his cadence and affected a stronger New York accent during the call, which Greenberg recorded and released. In the call, the two discuss replacing Fred Trump with Donald Trump on the Forbes 400 list, because the father's stake in the real estate business had been consolidated into the son's ownership stake.

A Trump campaign adviser said there is widespread frustration over Meadows' comments, as well as his leadership more broadly. Early in the crisis, Meadows came to view the White House coronavirus task force, led by Vice President Mike Pence, as largely irrelevant.
