Priyanka Chopra has defended her friend Georgina Chapman after several stars shunned her Marchesa clothing line when her estranged husband Harvey Weinstein was accused of sexual harassment.

New York - Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein on Tuesday pleaded not guilty in a New York courtroom to rape and sexual assault charges related to crimes allegedly committed against two women. The 66-year-old producer, whose career imploded in a blaze of accusations of sexual misconduct and abuse from dozens of women that triggered the global #MeToo movement, could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted. Weinstein, who appeared in court in a dark blazer, jeans and a tie, uttered only a few words at the arraignment hearing.

Georgina Chapman is a co-founder of the fashion label Marchesa. Chapman's career at Marchesa is tightly tied to her husband's success. Stars of Weinstein-backed productions, including Renée Zellweger, Cate Blanchett, and Blake Lively, have worn Marchesa designs on the red carpet. Chapman and Marchesa kicked off an attempt at a comeback this month, with Scarlett Johansson wearing Marchesa to the Met Gala and Vogue publishing a sympathetic profile of the designer.
Georgina Chapman's divorce from shamed Hollywood producer, Harvey Weinstein, was made final in January. Weinstein is being accused of sexual misconduct by over 60 women. Georgina spoke publicly for the first time to Vogue magazine. Her interview is available in the June issue. She says that she was “humiliated” and “broken” after her ex-husband's cheating allegations. She said she didn't speak out before the interview because their was too much white noise. The Marchesa cofounder also admitted that she stayed at actor, David Oyelowo’s home during the Harvey Weinstein scandal, along with his wife and children. The two met during their college years. David Oyelowo said that he was initially skeptical about Georgina's relationship with Weinstein. He added, "But as time went on, as they got married, had children, there was no way of denying that this was a genuine couple.”
