    Channel 24 South Africa reports the nominations for the 91st Oscars were announced on Tuesday. Roma and The Favourite lead the pack with ten nominations a piece. Bradley Cooper suffered one of the biggest snubs. He was not nominated for Best Director for his film 'A Star Is Born.' 'Sorry to Bother You' and 'If Beale Street Could Talk' were overlooked for Best Picture. All five of the Best Director nominees are men, leaving Oscar fans feeling that women directors were snubbed by the Academy.

Her film, Lady Bird, has eight nominations. It took home no Oscars. Rachel Morrison is the first woman nominated for best cinematography. She lost out to the legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins.
