Merritt Island, Nov 8 (EFE/EPA).- Members of the Crew-1 mission, Soichi Noguchi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, NASA Mission specialist Shannon Walker, NASA pilot Victor Glover and NASA Crew Dragon commander Michael Hopkins arrived on Sunday at the John F. Kennedy Space Center in preparation for their upcoming mission into space. The Crew-1 astronauts are scheduled to launch onboard the SpaceX's Crew Dragon spacecraft on 14 November to join the Expedition 64 crew aboard the International Space Station, increasing the crew to seven astronauts. Astronauts currently stationed on the International Space Station, or ISS, prepared pizzas in zero gravity on Monday. Timelapse footage from the station shows the team of astronauts throwing pizzas to one another as they floated in mid-air. ISS Manager Kirk Shireman decided to surprise the astronauts with the ingredients for making pizzas, after the topic was brought up at a live public event.
A Soyuz-MS 02 spacecraft launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Wednesday, bound for the International Space Station. The spacecraft is carrying Russian cosmonaut Sergey Ryzhikov, Kazakh cosmonaut Andrei Borisenko, and US astronaut Shane Kimbrough, who will spend four months aboard the ISS to conduct experiments in biology, biotechnology, physical science and Earth science before returning home in February.
