FL Wildlife Officials Are Killing Iguanas By Smashing Their Skulls

Description

Florida wildlife officials are smashing in theh eads of iguanas. They say it's a quick and “humane” form of euthanasia. The state has been overrun by the invasive species of lizard over the past decade. Iguanas are native to Mexico and Central America and were introduced to the state as pets. They eat plants and flowers in gardens and damage sidewalks with their burrows. Researchers from University of Florida are working on ways to reduce the population.
