Al Sharpton: "The NFL Players have demonstrated a real sense of courage to stand up!"

Al Sharpton, the veteran US civil rights advocate, lashed out at president Trump for his attacks on football players kneeling during the national anthem, saying it was a bait-and-switch tactic to avoid real issues such as police brutality. He stressed that the players were merely advocating and not insulting their country. He added that the president was undoing a number of measures taken by the Obama administration to tackle police violence and thus creating a climate of impunity for the police.
