Nearly 700k Twitter Users Saw Propaganda During 2016 Election

On Friday, Twitter said it will email approximately 677,775 users in the U.S. to let them know that during the 2016 election, they interacted with Russian propaganda. The users reportedly either followed an account, liked or retweeted content associated with the Internet Research Agency, an organization associated with Russian propaganda efforts. Twitter says that as of now, it believes that there were around 3,814 unique IRA-run accounts. The social media site has not said what its forthcoming emails to the nearly 680,000 users will say.
