The Dubai police force teamed up with tech company HoverSurf to produce a new police drone-motorcycle hybrid designed for rapid deployment in emergency situations. Four propellers and can lift a driver up to 16 feet off the ground and travel nearly 4 miles for up to 25 minutes. The hoverbike has a max weight of 660 pounds and can rocket through the sky at 43 mph. The flying motorcycle can take pictures with eight cameras and transmit them directly to a police station.

Tech savvy police departments all over the world are also turning to drones to get more help patrolling the streets and fighting crime, such as police in the Chilean city of Las Condes.
Police in North Carolina had their hands full dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, which brought heavy rains and major floods to the coastal state. Many civilians became stuck in the torrential flooding and police were called to hundreds of emergency situations, rescuing hundreds of citizens from the extreme weather. Mayor Nat Roberson declared a mandatory curfew from 7pm to 7am in response to the number of rescues carried out by emergency workers.

US President Barack Obama called for unity following the fatal shooting of three police officers in Baton Rouge during a press conference in Washington DC on Sunday. Addressing the recent police deaths in Dallas , the president said that "five days ago I travelled to Dallas for the memorial service of the officers who were slain there. I said that, that killer would not be the last person who tries to make us turn on each other nor will today's killer. It remains up to us to make sure that they fail."
