Catalan separatists flood the streets of Barcelona in a test of their strength ahead of fresh negotiations with the Spanish government. The protest coincides with Catalonia's national day, or "Diada", which commemorates the 1714 fall of Barcelona in the War of the Spanish Succession and the region's subsequent loss of institutions. Alghero, Sep 25 (EFE).- The President of the Catalan Government, Pere Aragonès, assured Saturday that "the repression of the Spanish State continues" and that "amnesty is more necessary than ever ", after meeting in the Italian town of Alghero with former president Carles Puigdemont.Puigdemont was arrested Thursday in Alghero by an order from the Spanish Supreme Court, although he was released from jail Friday.
