Ukraine's top diplomat calls for the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting following the partial destruction of the strategically important Russian-held Kakhovka dam in southern Ukraine. "Ukraine calls an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council and brings the issue of the Russian terrorist act to the International Atomic Energy Agency's Board of Governors," Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says in a statement. Gilad Erdan, Israel's ambassador to the UN, concludes his speech during a Security Council meeting on the Palestinian question by leading a walk-out of the Israeli delegation. Before marching out, Erdan lights an electric candle in honor of Israelis who've died in terrorist attacks. UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemns "in the strongest possible way" the bombings at Kabul airport, which killed dozens including 12 US servicemen and have been claimed by the Islamic State group.
