Environmental Nonprofits File Lawsuit Against Trump Border Wall

Description

In early 2018, four environmental nonprofits stand in the way of the Trump administration's planned border wall, claiming that the building of the wall would threaten several endangered animal and plant species on the US-Mexico border. The Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, the Animal Legal Defense Fund, and the Center for Biological Diversity have all filed suit against the US Department of Homeland Security over concerns about the proposed wall and its affect on local wildlife. According to the lawsuit, filed in November, the border wall would threaten over a dozen endangered species living in southern California and northern Mexico, including the Arroyo toad, the Quino checkerspot butterfly, the peninsular bighorn sheep, and the Mexican flannel bush.
