Former Kentucky Resident Found Guilty Of War Crimes

Description

On Wednesday, a war crimes court in Sarajevo sentenced former Kentucky resident Azra Basic to 14 years in prison for torturing and killing civilians during the Balkan war of the 1990s. Basic was responsible for overseeing the treatment of Serbs detained by Bosnian-Croat forces. Prosecutors say Basic forced prisoners to do horrific things, like crawl over broken glass, or drink gasoline before setting his hands and face on fire.
