Miley Cyrus & Liam Hemsworth Revisit Their Old Beach

Back to the beginning! Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth took a trip to Tybee Island – the Savannah, Georgia, city where they filmed the 2010 film The Last Song that led to the start of their relationship. Scroll down for more pics! As previously reported, the couple began their relationship after filming the movie, which was based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same name. They got engaged in 2012, split in May 2013 and eventually quietly reunited in December 2015. Cyrus opened up in May about the positive aspects of their split, explaining that they both needed to grow individually. “I know that everything is happening for the right reason,” Cyrus explained while speaking with SiriusXM’s Hits 1 radio show. “And I knew that when we weren’t together the first time — I didn’t know if that was the end of it, or knew if we were going to get back together again, but knew that wherever I was going I was on the right path.” Since reuniting, the couple often revisits their days on the film. In September 2016, Hemsworth posted a photo of the couple from their time on set. “Throwing it WAY back,” he wrote of the slightly-out-of-focus photo. “What a 'blur.' #TBT.” Cyrus, meanwhile, posted a video one month earlier of the pair, that many fans took as a nod to the 2010 film’s famous scene in which their characters sing along to Maroon 5’s “She Will Be Loved,” as Hemsworth’s character belts out the lyrics with off-key vocals. In the video posted by Cyrus in August 2016, Cyrus softly sings Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” in the car as Hemsworth loudly sings over her. She captioned the clip: “BGVs: @liamhemsworth Starring : Barbie Da Beagle @beaglefreedom.” In January 2016, Sparks opened up about watching the then-budding couple work together in 2009. "I might tend to believe there was little bit of magic involved,” the author 50, told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “They're both really terrific people, right? It was great watching them.”
