Puerto Rico Governor Calls for Whitefish Contract to Be Canceled 'Immediately'

Description

San Juan Governor Ricardo Rossello is calling for the cancellation of the controversial contract with Whitefish Energy. Whitefish is a small company based in Montana that has been under intense inspection and scrutiny after they secured a deal worth hundreds of millions to restore power to hurricane ravaged Puerto Rico. Rossello said that he has “asked the board of the power authority to invoke the cancellation clause in the contract immediately” and added in a post on twitter that “There can be no distraction that alters the commitment to lift up the electrical system as quickly as possible.” FEMA had expressed their concerns over the deal as well and has said that they do not approve it.
