La production des voitures dans l'Hexagone a connu un léger rebond en 2017, avec 2,2 millions sorties d'usines françaises en 2017, soit 7% de plus qu'en 2016. Grâce à un accord de compétitivité signé avec les syndicats, et le choix pour Peugeot et Renault de localiser en France l'assemblage des voitures haut de gamme. Mais selon les informations de Challenges, l'impact sur les créations d'emplois est très limité.
