EU Will Unveil Plan Taxing Turnover Of Big U.S. Tech Firms

Description

The European Commission will propose rules on Wednesday, that are designed to make digital companies pay their fair share of taxes. The proposals are set to hit U.S. tech giants such as Google and Facebook. The Commission is expected to propose that companies with significant digital revenues in Europe pay a three percent tax on their turnover. If the measure is backed by EU states and lawmakers, the tax would apply to large firms with annual worldwide revenue above 750 million euro.
