This is Maximo Gomez Hernandez, a Nicaraguan man who claims to be 117 years old. Maximo's Nicaraguan ID reports his date of birth as May 7, 1900, giving the elderly man claim to the title of world's oldest living man. If his birth date is confirmed, it would make him three years older than Yisrael Kristal, born 15 September 1903, currently named by the Guinness World Records as the world's oldest living male.
What's the oldest maximum age that a man can become a father? Different medical experts will say different things, but one man from the West Bank is challenging all the previous stereotypes and rules of thumb. 92-year-old Mahmoud Al-Adam, a resident of the town of al-Khalil in the West Bank, recently became a father of a lovely newborn daughter named Tamara.
This fitness enthusiast is not your average senior citizen. Yang Maolin says that regular exercise is the secret to his age. How old is he exactly? Actually, he's 101 years old. Yang lived all his life in the countryside until he left three years ago after his wife died. He moved to China's Xi'an to live with his children, but never stopped exercising. The 101-year old has become very popular in his new home town, where many locals recognize him at Revolution Park. It seems like a no brainer to suggest that regular exercise is the secret to a long and healthy life.
Old-timers usually scoff at the antics of the younger generation in their quest for coolness, but one super hip senior citizen from Belarus is totally reversing that stereotype. This sunglasses wearing hipster grandpa is 82-year-old marathon runner Andrei Korolenko, and, with his well-groomed beard and non-chalant attitude, he may be the oldest and smoothest male model in the history of Belarus, and maybe even in the world. Andrei started running at the age of 66, but only got discovered by some modeling agencies recently after pictures of him running became popular in the #GoldenBelarus photo contest. That's when the calls started pouring in and the contracts started getting signed. Now he's the grandpa known for running marathons at the blistering pace of 6 miles an hour and has become an ambassador for running in Belarus and an icon of healthy living.
The man on the right is Antonio Guterres, the former Prime Minister of Portugal and UN High Commissioner for Refugees, and he is set to replace Ban Ki Moon as the next Secretary General of the United Nations. 66-year-old Guterres worked as UN High Commissioner for Refugees over the past decade and dealt with the worst refugee crisis since the Second World War during his tenure. The official choice will be announced in a formal vote by the Security Council later on Thursday.
