Latvia and Baltic States view Ukrainian crisis with anxiety

Description

The Ukraine crisis is reverberating across Central and Eastern Europe, particularly in the nearby Baltic States, which until their independence in 1991 were part of the Soviet Union. Although the Baltic States are now members of NATO, memories of Soviet oppression are still vivid. Many people feel alarmed, as France 24 has been finding out in the Latvian capital Riga.
