  • Endurance test at -26 degrees - The latest generation of brake control systems for future electric platforms by Mercedes-Benz in winter testing at the Arctic Circle

Mercedes-Benz tested the latest generation of brake control systems on drives in Arjeplog, Sweden, near the Arctic Circle. For more than 20 years, an official branch of the Sindelfingen plant has existed here: its very own test centre for testing in the most extreme conditions. In addition to the EQE, EQS, EQS SUV and EQE SUV, models of future vehicle generations based on future platforms were also used in the drives across a frozen lake and up the region’s highest mountain.“During the test drives, our team is primarily concerned with safety, efficiency and driving comfort. The development team tunes the brake control systems individually for each model series – and pushes them to their physical limits.”Christoph Böhm, Head of Brake Control Systems, Mercedes-Benz AGOn the way to an all-electric future, the team is working on a new generation of stability control systems. These make use of the properties of the electric drive to precisely control the torque at the wheels. Most drivers will probably never notice how hard their Mercedes-Benz vehicles work to keep them out of dangerous situations – for Böhm and his team, this is the definition of a job well done.

  • Mercedes A 250 e Testing the A-Class Plug-In Hybrid

The new Mercedes A 250 e is powered by a combination of 1.4 liter gasoline engine and electric motor. With 218 hp system output, the electrified A-Class is quite fast on the road. But what about the electrical range, the consumption and the price? What the A-Class has to offer as a plug-in hybrid, I have looked at during my test drive in the Mercedes A 250 e sedan. • Mercedes-Benz V-Class – Testing the Luxury MPV

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is clearly one of the best but also the most expensive MPVs on the market. Now the V-Class gets a facelift and so new engines, a revised interior and the new automatic transmission 9G-TRONIC. During my test drive in the Mercedes-Benz V-Class 300 d 4MATIC I’ve tested how luxurious the new V-Class really is and what else it has to offer. Source: http://quickcarreview.com

  • Full Electric Mercedes-Benz Citaro - Winter Testing

It must be electric bus season again. After Thomas Built announced their all-electric school bus, Mercedes-Benz started the countdown to zero-emission buses. By the end of next year, Mercedes will start production of a bus with an electric drive system based on their existing bus platform the Mercedes-Benz Citaro. The company celebrated the production of their 50,000 Citaro recently. They’ve already been experimenting with hybrid bus technology with their Citaro G BlueTec Hybrid. The new Citaro is going to borrow the Hybrid’s wheel hub motors at the rear-axel. Energy for the bus will come with a newly designed modular lithium-ion battery pack. The modular design means that each bus could be customized to meet the specific range requirements of the route it's built to run.
