The great Libyan exodus: tens of thousands flee the embattled country

Description

Tens of thousands have fled the violence in Libya, and there's no sign that the mass exodus is likely to stop soon. That's partly down to the fact that a sixth of the Libyan population is made up of ex-patriates from other countries. The vast numbers of those trying to leave are so overwhelming that security forces cannot hold them back, while the EU has started work on an action plan and emergency cash fund to deal with an expected influx of migrants.
