Short on income and gas, Palestinian women bake Ramadan treats

Description

Palestinian women in Gaza are busy baking traditional sweets ahead of Eid al-Fitr, a Muslim celebration that marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan. These sweets, known as "kaak" in Arabic, delight children and provide a much needed income boost for Gazans who make and sell them. This year's gas shortages, however, have put a limit to how much the women can bake. The waiting time for a gas refill can extend to more than a month in Gaza.
