Not With A Bang But A Whimper? French 'Yellow Vest' Protestors' Numbers Shrink

Description

Turnout at “yellow vest” protests across France fell on Saturday to its lowest level yet. The often violent and destructive protests, a backlash against high living costs, have lasted nearly four months. Reuters reports some protesters staged a “flashmob” at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport. Across the country, the French Interior Ministry says some 28,600 people turned out overall, with 3,000 of those in Paris. That's down from 39,300 across France the previous Saturday. And it's a far cry from the nearly 300,000 who blocked roads and marched in cities in mid-November.
