U.S. Might Restrict Visa and Mastercard In Venezuela

Description

A senior Trump administration official said on Thursday that the United States is considering imposing financial sanctions that could prohibit Visa, Mastercard and other financial institutions from processing transactions in Venezuela. Reuters reports that the move, which has not been finalized, would represent another step in tightening things on the government of President Nicolas Maduro. The sanctions would aim broadly to block state-owned financial institutions’ access to the international financial system.
