“The CUPRA Formentor VZ5 delivering 390 HP is a car that you have to feel when you drive it.” CUPRA development driver Jordi Gené was closely involved in the set-up of this exclusive model, of which there will only be 7,000 units. A car born on the racetrack to transmit each sensation to the driver, with attention to every last detail. Even its CUP Bucket seats are inspired by the world of racing. This is how they were developed. Inspired by the racetrack, the new CUP Bucket seats designed exclusively for the Formentor VZ5 conform to race car aesthetics. “The seat is the driver’s first contact with the car; it’s responsible for transmitting the sensations of the road and with these CUP Buckets the emotions are fully conveyed” says CUPRA’s CTO Marta Almuni. The centre bezels that crown the backrest and the carbon fibre rear side are some of the details that give these seats a clearly sporty style.
If there is one segment that has been growing exponentially over the last 10 years it is the SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) segment. Versatility, greater height and an attractive design have made this segment a customer favourite.But the automotive world always goes further and explores new paths. The CUPRA Formentor is about to take to the streets of the world. But some have already had the privilege of driving it including the CUPRA development team led by SEAT executive Vice-president for R&D Dr. Werner Tietz, along with CUPRA Technical Officer Marta Almuni and CUPRA driver Jordi Gené. The following are their impressions at the wheel of the brand’s first uniquely designed and developed model.
SEAT is refreshing its successful Ateca with the introduction of the 2020 version. The revamped vehicle will build on its compact SUV attributes, adding a refreshed and more emotional appearance both inside and outside, a fully connected user experience, improved levels of safety and comfort and increased efficiency.When it was first launched, the SEAT Ateca brought a new dimension to the compact SUV market; it was the perfect match for urban life, offering a spacious, practical and versatile SUV with a unique style. And its clear character, emotional design and dynamic personality has been added into the new version.
SEAT celebrates its 69 years of history and is participating this year in the 100th edition of the Automobile Barcelona, where it has rolled out its vision of electric mobility with its two new concept cars – the first ever fully electric SEAT el-Born and the SEAT Minimó, a forward-looking approach that aims to become the companion of cities and revolutionise urban mobility. Moreover, CUPRA is also displaying the new CUPRA Formentor, the brand’s own first model, as well as the e-Racer, the first ever fully electric touring racecar.
