Maduro Government Blames Opposition As Blackout Stretches Into 2nd Day

Description

According to a report by Reuters, on Friday, Venezuela shut schools and suspended the workday as the worst blackout in decades paralyzed most of the country for a second day. Late on Thursday afternoon, power went out due to a problem at Venezuela's main hydroelectric plant. The government of Nicolas Maduro reportedly called the incident an act of sabotage by its idealogical adversaries. Vice President Delcy Rodriguez said in comments broadcast over state television, “We will once again defeat this electrical sabotage. We are going to recover this important service for the population."
