'Jeopardy!' Host Alex Trebek Announces His Fight With Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

According to a report by Reuters, on Wednesday, Jeopardy host Alex Trebek announced in a video message that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and vowing to beat the disease despite its low survival rate. Trebek has hosted the syndicated game show since 1984, making him one of the most iconic figures on television in North America. In a video posted on YouTube, Trebek says, “Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this, and I’m going to keep working. And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease.”
