A federal judge has ruled 114,000 homeless students in New York City are to have their day in court. Business Insider reports a judge has allowed a class-action lawsuit to advance to expedite the roll-out of WiFi to homeless shelters across the city. The suit was filed when homeless students were unable to access the internet in homeless shelters during periods of remote learning this year. Business Insider reports the city provided students with iPads with unlimited cellular data, but many have had trouble getting proper cell service. Politico reports that a group of Michigan voters are suing President Donald Trump and the Trump presidential campaign. The plaintiffs are accusing the Trump campaign of "openly seeking to disenfranchise Black voters" through their legal challenges to the presidential election. According to Business Insider the lawsuit was filed on Friday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia. Trump has inserted himself into Michigan's election certification process. He has called on a GOP canvasser in Wayne County and inviting top GOP officials to the White House on Friday to discuss the election.
A record-shattering 100 million Americans cast their ballots in the 2020 general election before polls opened Tuesday. CNN reports the millions of mail-in ballots are expected to lead to a delay in the counting of votes once the polls close. Nevertheless, President Donald Trump has continued to falsely claim that the count is supposed to be completed by Election Night. His stance is politically beneficial because more GOP voters are expected to show up on Election Day, while more Democrats are expected to vote through the mail.
