Netflix Is Preparing To Lose Popular Shows Like 'The Office'

Description

Uproxx reports Netflix might soon be losing **The Office.** In January, an NBC executive said the sitcom was one of the most popular licensed properties on Netflix. The Wall Street Journal reported last year that some of the most-watched titles on Netflix included **The Office**, **Parks and Recreation** and **Grey’s Anatomy**. According to Nielsen data, non-original “library programming” made up 72% of the minutes people spent watching Netflix as of October. In a recent call, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said the company had been preparing for the loss of some of its biggest licensed titles. “[We’re] ready for it, anticipating it, and in fact, we are eager to have more and more of our money to be able to do spectacular new titles."
