Beijing, Sep 16 (EFE/EPA).- The real estate subsidiary of Chinese group Evergrande announced Wednesday it would pay interest due on its Shenzhen-traded 5.8 percent bond from September 2025 on time.In a Shenzhen exchange filing, Hengda Real Estate Group Co. Ltd., Evergrande's subsidiary, said it would make a coupon payment on the bond Thursday.This would mean the timely payment of its obligations in China although it remains to be seen whether Evergrande will pay the interest for its offshore dollar bonds. Business Insider reports world-famous Portuguese soccer star and mega-gazillionaire Cristiano Ronaldo has tested positive for the coronavirus. Business Insider reports the Portuguese Football Federation said the 35-year-old is 'doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.' After Ronaldo, who plays as a forward for Juventus, tested positive, his teammates all took new tests and received negative results. Ronaldo brought in $109 million in 2019. According to Forbes, that makes him the second-highest-paid athlete in the world, behind only Lionel Messi. After nine seasons with Real Madrid, Ronaldo signed a four-year deal in 2018 with Italian powerhouse Juventus. That banks him a sweet $64 million a year.
Between COVID-19 and various efforts across the country to make it downright difficult to vote, the challenges of voting are becoming increasingly obvious. Following the lead of major retails, US tech giants like Twitter and Salesforce are giving their employees Election Day off in order to vote. According to Business Insider, rideshare company Uber is giving employees the day off as part of their 'Get Out the Vote' effort. Uber is providing links to voter registration sites through its app, and will assist in getting voters to the polls on election day. Other companies, like Apple and Facebook, are encouraging employees to volunteer to be poll workers.
