S&P 500 Climbs To Record High On Consumer Spending

Description

Reuters reports that the S&P 500 climbed to an all-time high for the first time since late September on Monday. The record increase was spurred by upbeat consumer spending data and largely positive earnings. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 4.92 points, or 0.02 percent, at 26,548.25, the S&P 500 was up 1.36 points, or 0.05 percent, at 2,941.24 and the Nasdaq Composite was up 7.17 points, or 0.09 percent, at 8,153.57.
