  • 'Rogue One' Director Gareth Edwards Talks Making 'The Creator' On His Own Terms

There are very few filmmakers who have as much experience with massive science-fiction as Gareth Edwards, who we recently interviewed through our partnership with AMC Theatres, where tickets for the movie are on sale. After getting his start on the lower-budget, 2010 creature feature "Monsters," Edwards graduated to Hollywood storytelling with the 2014 resuscitation of "Godzilla." And that film ended up being so impressive, Lucasfilm came calling with an offer to tackle a Star Wars film. The end result, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," still is considered by many Star Wars fans to be one of the finest movies made in the post-prequel era. Sci-fi fans couldn’t wait to see what he did next. But the wait ended up taking longer than expected. Gareth Edwards follows up "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" with The Creator (in theaters September 29), and the film already is generating raves worthy of a Star Wars successor. The film tackles the complicated topic of Artificial Intelligence and finds John David Washington tracking the development of a weapon that actually looks like a child (played by Madeleine Yuna Voyles). When we got the chance to sit down with Edwards and discuss the creation of "The Creator," he opened up about making the movie on his own terms. #thecreator #garethedwards #movies SUBSCRIBE to CinemaBlend's channel HERE - https://www.youtube.com/cinemablend For the latest entertainment news and analysis go here: Movie News:  http://www.cinemablend.com/news.php/ Movie Reviews: http://www.cinemablend.com/reviews/ TV News: http://www.cinemablend.com/television/ Celebrity News: http://www.cinemablend.com/pop/ Superheroes: http://www.cinemablend.com/superheroes/ Movie Trailers & Film Clips:  http://www.cinemablend.com/trailers/

  • Facebook Boots Small Business Owner Who Spent $46M On Ads And Won't Tell Him Why

Jordan Nabigon is the CEO of the content curation site Shared. He was a big Facebook customer, spending nearly $46 million in ads on the site. That is, until the platform booted him without warning or explanation. According to Business Insider, Facebook says Shared violated the site's terms and conditions. However, it wouldn't explain what the violations were. Nabigon says several of Shared's pages have been unpublished since October 26, taking 21 million of the company's followers with them. He added that Facebook gave him no warning that they could or would unpublish his pages, and that Facebook told him the decision was final. Business Insider reports Facebook has also locked Nabigon out of his personal account.

  • Mass Online Public Schooling Has Opened A Pandora's Box Of Privacy Concerns

Virtual learning has fragmented the line between students' homes and schools, immediately sparking privacy scandals like Zoom-bombing. But according to Business Insider, the new school year has brought a rash of new problems, like parents appearing on-screen drunk, stoned, or nude. Or, school officials calling the police on a Black student who moved a BB gun in his room during class, to keep his brother from tripping over it. Many worry this increased reliance on remote learning has forced parents to choose between keeping their kids' schooling on track and protecting their civil liberties. Education professionals freely admit that in the rush to move learning online, little to no thought was given to privacy concerns, or the parents' on-camera behavior. Calling out a parent who's drinking a beer is really calling out the student, which isn't fair to the student who's not engaging in the behavior. It's not the teacher's responsibility, though, to manage the parent's behavior. Heather Johnson, an associate professor of science education at Vanderbilt University
