    Reuters reports that a trial date of May 6th has been set in the case against Harvey Weinstein. The disgraced entertainment industry mogul is accused of forcibly performing oral sex on a woman in July 2006 and raping another woman in March 2013. More than 70 women have accused 66-year-old Weinstein of sexual assaults that date back decades. The Weinstein scandal helped create the #MeToo movement, in which hundreds of women have come forward to share their stories of abuse at the hands of powerful men in entertainment, politics and other fields.

    (CNN)Moments after a judge decided that Harvey Weinstein's rape case would move forward to trial after his attorneys sought a dismissal, many celebrated the decision. Actress and activist Amber Tamblyn was at the New York courthouse for Thursday's hearing, alongside Nia Vardalos, Marisa Tomei and Jennifer Esposito. "This morning we showed up in Criminal court to witness Harvey Weinstein and his case not be dismissed," Tamblyn wrote in a tweet. We'll be there again on March 7th and look forward to seeing him prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

    According to Newser, New York City prosecutors accused a police detective of improper conduct. The incident stems from a sexual assault case against Harvey Weinstein. Prosecutors claimed that Detective Nicholas DiGaudio coached one of Weinstein's accusers, by suggesting they delete material from a cell phone before handing it over to prosecutors. The Manhattan district attorney's office detailed the alleged misconduct in a letter to Weinstein's lawyer.
