‘Game of Thrones’ Battle of Winterfell Breaks Twitter Records

Arya slayed the Night King during the Battle of Winterfell Sunday night and “Game of Thrones” slayed Twitter, as the 1-hour 22-minute installment of the show’s eighth and final season became the most-tweeted-about episode of scripted TV of all time. The episode, officially titled “The Long Night,” racked up more than 7.8 million tweets. That giant social media imprint puts “GoT” Episode 803 ahead of what is now the second-most-tweeted-about scripted TV episode: the “Game of Thrones” Season 8 premiere, which scored over 5 million tweets on April 14.
